This summer the Robbinsville Schools Department of Special Services welcomed members of The Research Institute for Learning and Development (ResearchILD), a nonprofit educational and research organization dedicated to helping all students to be successful learners by teaching them how to learn through various executive function and learning strategies. Staff members were honored to host ResearchILD’s Director, Dr. Lynn Meltzer, Educational Specialist and Training Coordinator, Donna Kincaid, and Director of the SMARTS programs, Michael Greschler, who provided training for district staff including teachers, therapists, and child study team members. The emphasis of the training was to equip Robbinsville's educational professionals with strategies, tools, and resources to support students’ executive function skills including goal setting, organization, prioritizing, flexible thinking, self-checking, and self-monitoring. We are excited to work with ResearchILD in the coming year to begin using the resources and material gained through this training.
